Finally...The Transformation is Complete!
I know some of you have been patiently waiting for the "after" pictures to be posted. The room is finally done! Obviously, things got a little behind schedule. We had a bed picked out at Nebraska Furniture Mart, so the plan was to go there, buy it, and bring it home. We borrowed Josh's brother Andy's pick-up and headed to Omaha. We found a salesperson, and she told us the bed was on backorder. So instead of borrowing a truck and spending the gas money to drive down again, we paid the $60 to have them deliver it. They also set it up so it was totally worth it. The bed was delivered on Tuesday, but we just got everything moved back in last night. Breck's bed is really cool and her room feels so much less cluttered. It is a captain's bed, so it has four drawers underneath to put all her clothes in and we got rid of her dresser. It also has storage behind the drawers that you can access from a door on the side. As you can see from the pictures, Breck has chosen to use this, not for storage, but as her own private reading area. It also has a huge bookcase headboard, so we put her books and all her little knick knacks on it. The shrine to Camp Rock survived and is still intact on her closet. The magnetic wall is kind-of disappointing. It won't hold very heavy magnets and you really can't put anything under the magnets. But, Breck has some High School Muscial and Camp Rock magnets that decorate her wall, so she seems to be happy with it. So far, Breck's new room is working out nicely for her! By the way, the neon green glow is not nearly as offensive when the room is full of stuff!

Goodbye Freedom!
As some of you know, I have been going back and forth about whether to substitute at school for paraprofessionals or work at Hallie Management, where I have worked off and on for about 2 years. I have made a decision! As of last week I am doing both! Ok, I guess that is really not a decision (I am not really good at making those), but it works for me right now :). At Hallie, they have agreed to let me come in and work on special projects whenever I can, so I am able to work at school whenever they call me in. I started at Hallie on Thursday and it was good to be back. Someone said to me, "Just when you think you've made it out, they suck you back in!" For those of you that don't know, this will be my third time working at Hallie. It's a long story, and my decision was not influenced at all by my father, as much as he would like to think so! The good news is, I am back in his will! Friday morning, I was suppose to sub for a para at school with a special needs girl in the middle school, but she was sick. Instead, I just spent the morning in the elementary with another para to see how things work. It may have been overwhelming coming in and doing it on my own, so it was nice to watch someone else do the job first. I guess I am no longer a free woman!
I have noticed that I may tend to overuse exclamation points! But, I have been told that I talk rather loudly, so I guess I just type the way I talk!
On another note, I promise to post "after" pictures of Breck's room. We have everything done and are just waiting on a bed. It will be delivered on the 16th, and we can hardly wait!

Room Renovation
Breck has decided she needed a change in her bedroom. The tea party theme she has had since we moved in to this house had to go. Here is the before picture. I found a blue, green, and pink plaid bedding set on clearance that I thought she would enjoy, so I bought it. She loved it! Breck is into plaid right now. So, we set about picking out paint, curtains, etc. Since they did not have school on Tuesday, we went to Home Depot and picked out the color "Friendly Frog". We also bought some magentic paint, so she can use magents to put things up on her wall. That is very exciting! It's amazing how many Jonas Brothers and Camp Rock pictures one pre-teen can put on her walls! (By the way, in case you were wondering, Joe is the cutest!) Breck and Braydon helped paint a little, but mom and dad did most of the work. Well, the little 2 inch by 4 inch sample of "Friendly Frog" was not quite as neon as an entire room turned out to be, but we will make it work. There is a green glow coming from her room now. Josh was not entirely impressed with the color, but what's done is done and he has been a good sport about it. We have been bed shopping and I think we have settled on a captain's bed we found at The Mart. Breck has been bunking with Braydon the last couple nights and can't wait to get back into her room. By this weekend, she will be sleeping in her brand new bed and hopefully, the neon glow from her walls won't keep her up!
